2nd Tenure at KSU

Before Raymond became the current president of Kentucky State University, Mary Evan Sias, the current president. Mary had set her retirement to happen in June. When she did retire, KSU hired an interim president to fill in her role until they found a suitable replacement. That interim president was Raymond M. Burse. A while into his president temporary job he decided to actual try and be the permanent president of the university. The board of people who select the president decided he would be the good fit as president, and voted him in. When people heard, he would be the new permanent president he receives positive feedback from the students and faculty.

As president, he started off with a huge splash that affected the employees of the university. He decided to cut his salary short by $90,000 to put that money into the faculty that work about $7 hour. He believes that $7 an hour was not enough money to live off of, so the money that was cut from his salary was able to raise those employees wages to $10 an hour. Which he believe was enough to live off.
